Slade Plumbing Pty Ltd is growing its construction team and we are looking for the right people — not just people to fill positions.
Established in Newcastle since ****, we are moving into the next generation of the business with a strong focus on residential construction, subdivisions and civil plumbing works.
We currently have long-term projects underway, including Metford Gardens, involving approximately 80 new homes together with associated civil and infrastructure works.
We are looking to employ:
2 experienced Residential Construction Plumbers
2 experienced Civil Pipe Layers / Drainage Workers / Ploy Pipe Installers
a 3rd or 4th Year Plumbing Apprentice
An experienced Plumbing/Civil Labourer may also be considered
Above all, we are looking for reliable people who can think for themselves, solve problems, take responsibility for their work and get on with the job.
The Work
Depending on your experience, your work may include:
Recent home plumbing and drainage
Residential construction and renovations
Sewer and stormwater drainage
Water rough-ins and fit-offs
Gas installations
Civil sewer and stormwater mains
Poly water, gas and fire service mains
Subdivision infrastructure
Reading plans and setting out
Working with builders, supervisors and other trades
Maintaining accurate job notes and site records
Our work is primarily across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the Lower Hunter Region.
Who We're Looking For
We want people who:
Have residential construction, drainage or civil experience
Can read plans and think ahead
Can work independently without needing constant supervision




Take pride in doing the job properly
Can identify a problem and work towards a practical solution
Are reliable and turn up ready to work
Communicate well with supervisors, builders and other trades
Look after company vehicles, tools and equipment
Work safely and contribute positively to the team
For qualified plumbers, a Certificate III in Plumbing and current driver's licence are required.
Relevant experience will be considered for pipe layers, labourers and apprentices.

$45–$50 per hour for experienced qualified plumbers, depending on experience and capability

About Slade Plumbing
Slade Plumbing is a Newcastle-based plumbing company established in ****, with a long history across the Newcastle and Hunter Region.
The business is currently transitioning its maintenance division, Plumbers eXpress, to new ownership so that Slade Plumbing can concentrate on its growing residential construction, subdivision and civil project work.
We have substantial ongoing work already secured and are looking to build a small, capable construction team around people who take pride in their work and can be trusted to get the job done.
