We are seeking a dedicatedProperty Manager to join us at Peregian Beach College in beautiful Peregian Beach, Queensland.
This part-time, flexible role is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for students and staff.
The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and contribute to the overall cleanliness and appearance of the school facilities.This role is flexible and hours can be negotiated with the right person.We are looking to promote one particularly skilled and competent worker to a Coordinator position within one year.Key Selection CriteriaThe successful applicant will have:Demonstrated experience in property/facilities management or a related trade/maintenance management roleStrong knowledge of grounds and building maintenance, including compliance requirementsProven ability to lead, supervise, and develop staff and contractorsExcellent organisational and project management skills, including budgeting and planningSound understanding of WHS and risk management in a facilities context.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approachKnowledge of sustainability and environmental practices in facilities managementExperience in a school or similar setting, preferredQualificationsCurrent Blue Card (Paid)Provide First Aid and CPR certified (desired)Current Driver's Licence (manual vehicle)Relevant trade or tertiary qualification (e.g. Facilities Management, Building Services, Horticulture)Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership & PlanningDevelop and implement property and maintenance plans aligned to College priorities and timetableLead and supervise grounds/maintenance staff, including rostering, training, and performance managementContribute to the development of budgets for property services, maintenance, and capital projectsSchedule preventative maintenance and plan for asset lifecycle managementProperty & Facilities MaintenanceOversee day-to-day maintenance of buildings, classrooms, and outdoor facilitiesEnsure sports fields, playgrounds, gardens,



and landscaped areas are maintained to a high standardCoordinate repairs, painting, cleaning, and minor works either in-house or through contractorsMonitor and maintain building systems such as plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, and securityCompliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and regulationsMaintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, and maintenance schedulesManage risk by conducting regular safety audits and responding promptly to hazardsEnsure safe chemical handling, equipment storage, and contractor inductionsContractor & Asset ManagementEngage and supervise external contractors for specialist work, ensuring quality and complianceManage supplier relationships and service contractsMonitor condition of College property and recommend upgrades or replacementsMaintain accurate asset registers and service documentationOtherWork collaboratively with College leadership, staff, and community groups to support College events and operational needsAssist in planning for new facilities, refurbishments, and capital projectsPromote sustainability initiatives in grounds and facilities managementAny other reasonable and/or ad-hoc tasks as directed by Head of College or Board of DirectorsCompliance ResponsibilitiesAll staff are required to comply with all policies, procedures and requirements for:Risk Management - report identified hazards that may pose a risk to employees or the public, and/or may give rise to an insurance claim, taking into consideration the risk for safety, security, vandalism, burglary/theft and fire/arsonChild Safety - staff are required to adhere to the policies and protocols in relation to matters of child abuseWorkplace Health and Safety - take reasonable care to protect their own health and safety and the health and safety of others in the workplace - it is a requirement to immediately report any incidents, hazards or near misses to the relevant supervisor and actively participate in hazard elimination where requiredEqual Opportunity - undertake work and activities in a manner that ensures the workplace is free from harassment, bullying behaviour and discrimination
