PlayCo is Australia's largest playground and fitness equipment manufacturer, designing, manufacturing and installing playgrounds across the country.We're looking for a Junior Product Designer to join our Product Development team in Scoresby, Melbourne.
You'll be creating products that bring people together, get kids moving and become part of the places where communities play.This is a role for someone who is creative, curious, positive and full of ideas — someone who enjoys conceptual thinking, exploring different possibilities and finding new ways to make products more engaging, functional and fun.You might be a recent or upcoming graduate with a strong portfolio looking for your first full-time role, or have 1–5 years' experience and be ready for your next challenge.
We're looking for someone with creative energy, strong design thinking and the technical skills to bring their ideas to life.The roleYou'll work with our Product Development team to take ideas from early concepts through to detailed design and production.You'll be involved in:Developing current playground product conceptsSketching and exploring ideasCreating and refining 3D CAD modelsDeveloping manufacturing drawings and documentationExploring materials, manufacturing processes and product solutionsSupporting prototypes and testingWorking with engineering, production, installation and marketing teamsImproving existing products and finding smarter ways to design and manufacture themUsing AI and other emerging tools to explore ideas and enhance the design processYour ideas won't just live on a screen - they'll become real products that kids and communities use across Australia.About youWe're looking for someone who:Is naturally creative and enjoys thinking differentlyIs curious, positive and brings a great energy to the teamHas a can-do attitude and enjoys learningCan think big while still caring about the detailIs interested in how products are made, not just how they lookCan take an idea from a sketch through to a 3D modelEnjoys working collaboratively and sharing ideasWhat you'll bringA tertiary qualification in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline — or you're about to complete oneExperience with physical product development, through professional work, internships, university projects or similar3D CAD modelling skills - you need to be comfortable creating and working with 3D models.
Autodesk Inventor experience is highly regardedExperience with Adobe Creative SuiteStrong visual and creative thinkingSketching and ideation skills are highly regardedShow us what you can doWe want to see what you've created, how you think and how you approach design problems.
