Maine Environmental Services is seeking a keen and enthusiastic Apprentice Gardener to join our growing team in Harcourt, VIC.
This is a full-time apprenticeship position that will provide you with comprehensive, hands-on training in all aspects of gardening and landscaping.
As an Apprentice Gardener, you will work alongside experienced staff to develop your horticultural skills, learn industry best practices, and contribute to creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces for our clients.
This role is an excellent opportunity to launch a rewarding career in the gardening and landscaping industry.Key responsibilitiesAssisting with the planting, cultivation and maintenance of landscape areas, including advanced trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plantsPreparing garden beds and soil, including digging, weeding and compostingWatering and feeding plants according to seasonal requirements and best practice standardsOperating and maintaining hand tools and small power equipment under supervisionAssisting with lawn care, including mowing, edging and aerationHelping to design and implement garden layouts and landscaping schemes under guidanceLearning about plant species, horticulture techniques and garden design principlesSupporting the team with site preparation, clearing and general grounds maintenanceMaintaining a protected and tidy work environment and adhering to all health and safety regulationsCommunicating effectively with clients and team membersWhat we're looking forA genuine interest in gardening,
