Pitstop Health is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our growing specialist mental health practice.
We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and personable, with the ability to manage a busy specialist medical reception environment independently and professionally.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing a warm and professional reception experience for patients and familiesManaging phone calls, emails and patient enquiriesCoordinating appointments, cancellations, referrals and waitlistsManaging clinician diaries and day-to-day schedulingProcessing Medicare, Workcover and NDIS billing, payments and patient accountsMaintaining accurate patient records and documentationLiaising with GPs, specialists, allied health professionals and external organisationsManaging more complex or sensitive patient enquiries appropriatelySupporting clinicians with day-to-day administrative requirementsProviding guidance and support to less experienced reception staff when required
About you
You will ideally have:
Minimum 12 months medical/allied health reception experience,



preferably within a specialist or private practiceStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organisation and attention to detailConfidence managing competing priorities in a busy environmentExperience with Medicare, Workcover and NDIS billingThe ability to work independently and use sound judgementA professional, calm and compassionate approachStrong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quicklyExperience in psychiatry, psychology or mental health would be highly regarded but is not essential.
