Buranda Family Medical Centre – Woolloongabba QLDBuranda Family Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team on a part-time basis.
Based in Woolloongabba, QLD, this role is central to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our GPs in providing comprehensive medical services to our diverse community.
As a Practice Nurse, you will be a vital member of our clinical team, ensuring patients receive excellent nursing support whilst managing their health conditions and attending preventative care appointments.Key responsibilitiesPerforming clinical nursing assessments and vital sign monitoring for patients across a range of medical conditionsAssisting GPs during consultations and minor proceduresAdministering vaccinations and immunisations according to national guidelinesProviding wound care management and dressing changesSupporting patients with chronic disease management programmes, including diabetes, hypertension and asthmaConducting health screening and preventative health checksCollecting and processing patient samples for pathology testingMaintaining accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with privacy and confidentiality requirementsProviding patient education and health promotion adviceContributing to the smooth running of the medical practice through efficient administrative supportEnsuring compliance with infection control and safety protocolsWhat we're looking forCurrent registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)



as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered NurseA minimum of two years' experience working in general practice nursing or a similar primary healthcare settingStrong clinical knowledge of common medical conditions and nursing interventionsExcellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgroundsProficiency in using medical practice management software and electronic health recordsA sound understanding of infection control principles and workplace health and safety standardsThe ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamA compassionate approach to patient care with a commitment to providing safe and effective nursing supportCurrent First Aid and CPR certificationPreferred experience in immunisation administration and chronic disease managementWhat we offerBuranda Family Medical Centre is committed to supporting the wellbeing and career development of our staff.
