About the role n
As Bakery Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the bakery and lead the team to deliver a high-quality, well-presented and commercially successful department.

You'll be responsible for:
n
n
Leading the day-to-day operation of the Bakery Department
n
Working hands-on alongside the bakery team as required
n
Driving sales, gross profit and department performance
n
Managing department wage costs and rostering within targets
n
Planning production and ensuring the department is full, fresh and appealing throughout trade
n
Managing ordering, stock levels, stock rotation, waste and stock control
n
Maintaining high standards of product quality,



merchandising and presentation
n
Recruiting, training, coaching and developing bakery team members
n
Managing team performance and supporting succession and development
n
Maintaining strong food safety, hygiene and WHS standards
n
Ensuring bakery equipment and machinery is appropriately maintained
n
Working closely with the Store Manager, Bakery Specialist and Operations team to achieve store and department targets
n
About you n
We're looking for someone who combines strong bakery knowledge with genuine leadership capability.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
At least 3 years' bakery experience at supervisory level
n
Previous retail bakery, supermarket or department management experience
n
Strong knowledge of bakery production and day-to-day bakery operations
n
Experience leading, training and developing a team
n
Commercial awareness, including sales, GP, wages, stock and waste
n
Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
n
Good food safety and WHS knowledge
n
Confidence using computer-based retail and ordering systems
n
A hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into production when required
n
High standards of quality, presentation and customer service.
