We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Finance Officer to join our Business Services team in Townsville.
n
This is a full-time contract position for up to 12 months, with the potential to transition to permanent full-time employment based on business requirements and performance.
About the role n
Working closely with our Finance Co-ordinator, you will provide day-to-day support across Rockfield's finance and accounting activities.
n
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across different areas of finance, takes pride in accuracy and can confidently follow matters through to completion.
Key responsibilities include: n
n
n
Payroll preparation and processing
n
n
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
n
n
Completing financial reconciliations
n
n
Processing a range of financial transactions and related documentation
n
n
Maintaining supplier, creditor and finance system records
n
n
Assisting with information required for financial, taxation, compliance and audit activities
n
n
Following up outstanding invoices, approvals and supporting documentation
n
n
Responding to routine finance queries from employees, suppliers and clients
n
n
Supporting improvements to finance systems and processes
n
n
Providing broader Business Services support when required
n
About you n
You will be reliable, organised and comfortable managing recurring deadlines and competing priorities.



You will understand the importance of confidentiality, accuracy and appropriate financial controls.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
n
Previous experience in an accounts, finance administration or similar role
n
n
Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
n
n
Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
n
n
Good organisational and time-management skills
n
n
Confidence using accounting and general business systems
n
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
n
The ability to identify discrepancies and follow up information
n
n
A professional and collaborative approach
n
n
The ability to handle confidential financial and employee information appropriately
n
n
Experience with payroll, invoicing, reconciliations, MYOB or similar finance systems will be highly regarded. A relevant qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, finance or business administration would also be advantageous.
