HR Business Partner | Site based | QLD The Opportunity We are looking for a seasoned, site-based HR Business Partner with experience supporting blue-collar workforces within heavy industry, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment.
n Supporting our Brendale, Coopers Plains and Oxley sites, as well as our Gyprock Trade Centre network, you will partner closely with leaders and employees across ER/IR, investigations, Enterprise Agreements, recruitment, and broader people initiatives.
n This is a hands-on, site-facing role requiring regular travel between locations, so maintaining a strong site presence and living within reasonable travelling distance is important. You will be resilient, pragmatic, and solutions-focused, with the confidence to work autonomously and build strong relationships with operational leaders.
n What You Will Be Doing
n

Partner closely with site leadership to provide practical, commercially focused HR advice within a fast-paced, blue-collar heavy industry environment.
n
Lead and manage employee and industrial relations matters, including complex investigations, performance management, disciplinary matters, and workplace issues.
n
Provide advice and interpretation across Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards, the NES, employment contracts, and company policies.
n
Take an active role in upcoming Enterprise Agreement activity and negotiations, with 2–3 EAs expected to require attention over the coming year.
n
Manage multiple employee relations matters across the sites, ensuring issues are effectively managed through to resolution.
n
Lead recruitment activity for the site, partnering with leaders to identify workforce requirements and recruit across operational and professional roles.

Support the rollout of Climate Fresk across Queensland and Western Australia, coordinating workshops and helping build awareness and engagement across the workforce.

Maintain accurate organisation structures and people data, including ongoing organisational chart updates.
n
Maintain a strong on-site presence, building a genuine understanding of the workforce, operations, and key site challenges.

What You Will Bring
n
n
Seasoned HR experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing, heavy industry, construction, or other blue-collar operational environment.
n
Strong employee relations and industrial relations capability, with experience confidently managing complex workplace matters.
n
Sound knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, Contemporary Awards, the NES, and Australian employment legislation.
n
Experience supporting Enterprise Agreement negotiations or bargaining activity would be highly regarded.
n
The confidence to build strong relationships with operational leaders, while constructively challenging and coaching managers when required.
n
The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
n
Strong judgement, resilience, and the ability to remain practical and solutions-focused when dealing with challenging people matters.
n
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify practical solutions.
n
A proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of matters from identification through to resolution.
