Position n
We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual with the interest, capacity and commitment to developing a career in water and wastewater treatment operations.
n
Working as part of a small and supportive team, this trainee position provides an exciting opportunity to develop practical skills and knowledge in the operation of Council's water and wastewater treatment facilities.
n
The successful applicant will undertake a two-year traineeship in Water Industry Treatment, gaining experience in wastewater treatment operations while completing a relevant course. Council will cover the costs associated with the course requirements, and you will receive on-the-job mentoring,



training and support from Council's experienced Treatment Plant Operators.
n
During the traineeship, you will develop practical skills in operating, monitoring and maintaining treatment plant facilities, as well as learning about water and wastewater treatment processes, safety requirements and environmental standards. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification and building a career in the water industry.

No previous experience in water or wastewater treatment is required. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, enjoys practical work and is committed to developing their skills and knowledge.

This is a term contract position for the duration of the traineeship and will conclude upon completion of the traineeship program.

Ability to undertake Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or equivalent under a traineeship arrangement.

Demonstrated interest,



capacity and commitment to develop knowledge of water and wastewater treatment operations including adherence to regulatory, health environmental and safety requirements such knowledge under a traineeship arrangement.

Demonstrated experience in and ability to undertake physical labouring duties.
n
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
Class C driver licence with an ability to operate a manual transmission.
n
Willingness and ability to work on call in accordance with roster requirements.

A commencement annual salary range of $59,700 to $68,600 (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and progression through qualifications.

Full payment of costs associated with the completion of your traineeship qualifications, and other tickets and licences required for the role.
