Why This Role Matters n
In construction, margin, cash flow and forecasting accuracy make or break a project. As our Senior Accountant, you'll own the technical accounting and reporting function across a multi-entity group, from WIP and project accounting to month-end and financial control, so the business can make decisions with confidence. It's a hands‐on skilled role with genuine ownership, not a transaction‐processing seat.
What You'll Be Doing n
Own project accounting end to end: job costing, WIP, revenue recognition and margin reporting across every project.
n
Work side by side with Project Managers and Contract Administrators on budgets, forecasts, cost-to-complete, cash flow and project performance.
n
Run a tight month-end, covering general ledger integrity, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, journals and management reporting.
n
Produce the monthly financial statements, cash flow reporting and variance analysis that leadership relies on.
n
Help shape annual budgets, rolling forecasts and financial models.
n
Look after statutory compliance, including BAS, IAS, FBT, payroll tax and superannuation.
n
Coordinate audit preparation, bank reporting and QBCC requirements, and work with external advisers where needed.
n
Safeguard financial controls by reviewing reconciliations and digging into exceptions or unusual transactions.
n
Lead and develop the Accounts Payable Officer, with oversight of Accounts Receivable and payroll controls.

Make things better by improving JobPac, reporting processes,



data integrity and financial systems.
What You'll Bring n
You're CA or CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, and you'll have:
n
Senior financial or technical accounting experience, ideally in construction, property or another project-based industry.
n
Hands‐on expertise in job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, project controls and cash flow forecasting.
n
A strong command of general ledger accounting, month-end reporting, reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
n
Experience supporting statutory reporting, external audits and compliance requirements.
n
Sound commercial judgement and the problem‐solving skills to untangle complex accounting matters.
n
A continuous improvement mindset, with a track record of lifting processes, controls and reporting.
n
Advanced Excel skills and experience with JobPac or a similar ERP system.
n
The communication and leadership skills to influence stakeholders, paired with a high bar for accuracy and accountability.
Bonus points: n
