Application Support Engineer- SQL- Growing Fintech n
A growing Fintech organisation based in Sydney CBD is currently seeking a Production Support Engineer (Application Support Engineer) to join their company on a permanent basis.
n
Responsibilities:
n
n
Provide application and production support across business-critical systems, with a focus on loan application platforms and related software.
n
Investigate incidents by gathering evidence, reviewing data, analysing logs, reproducing issues and identifying root cause or escalation paths.
n
Use SQL, Snowflake and Linux fundamentals to support troubleshooting and incident resolution.
n
Communicate issue status, business impact, next steps and expected resolution timeframes to business stakeholders in clear, simple language.
n
Work closely with external vendors, raising detailed tickets with screenshots, affected transactions, examples and business impact.
n
Prioritise multiple incidents based on urgency, customer impact,



business impact and operational risk.
n
Support some broader IT activity when required, such as onboarding, Windows setting support, asset management or infrastructure-adjacent tasks.
n
n
Key Skills/ Experience:
n
n
Experience in application support/ production support roles
n
Strong SQL skills and confidence using SQL to investigate, troubleshoot or resolve application issues.
n
Hands-on Snowflake experience.
n
Linux experience
n
Understanding of database management concepts such as access management, auditing, backups and restores.
n
n
Desired:
n
n
PostgreSQL experience
n
Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog.
n
Exposure to API integrations or scripting languages.
n
Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to improve troubleshooting, documentation or productivity.
n
