The Mitre Tavern Steakhouse and Grill located in the heart of Melbourne CBD is looking for experienced Wait staff to join our team with the opportunity to be trained as a shift supervisor. Key responsibilities n
n
Involvement in creating a welcoming and inviting space for our customers
n
Be a team player; supporting co-workers and management through daily tasks and the sequence of service
n
Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to serve beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and use of the coffee machine
n
Liaise with the kitchen when appropriate, and run food for both your own and other co-workers' tables
n
Assist in the running of functions, learning, understanding and utilising protocols for such events
n




Assist with the opening of the restaurant in the morning
n
Assist with the closing of the restaurant in the evening
n
About you n
n
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar hospitality role
n
Willingness to learn new skills and ability to adapt to current situations
n
Friendly disposition and passion for the industry
n
High professional standards
n
Ability to work in a fast pace environment and coping well under pressure
n
Extensive Wine knowledge
n
Knowledge of steaks and cuts of meat is preferred, as well as a rudimentary understanding or experience of modern cuisine
n
