Discover Nursing Australia is seeking a
friendly, reliable and engaging Disability Support Worker
to provide consistent 1:1 support to a participant.
n
This role is primarily focused on
companionship, community access and helping the participant remain active, socially connected and independent
. Only minimal assistance with personal care is required.
n
The Role:
n
We are looking for someone who can build a genuine and comfortable working relationship with the participant while supporting them to enjoy everyday life and remain connected with their community.
n
Support may include:
n
n
Companionship and social engagement
n
Community access and outings
n
Shopping and everyday errands
n
Cafés, lunch and social activities
n
Attending appointments
n
Recreational and leisure activities
n
Walks, parks and local outings
n
Transport within the community
n
Encouragement with daily routines
n
Light assistance around the home where required
n
Supporting independence, confidence and choice
n
Maintaining brief and accurate progress notes
n
n
This is
not a high-intensity personal care role
. The focus is on providing reliable companionship and practical support while encouraging the participant to remain as independent as possible.

Interested in building a consistent and genuine working relationship with one participant

What You'll Need:
n
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain where applicable:
n
n
Certificate III in Individual Support or
equivalent/relevant
qualification
n
NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
National Police Check
n
Current First Aid and CPR
n
NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety and You
n
Current driver's licence
n
Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle where transport is required
n
ABN or willingness to obtain one
n
n
