New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua New Guinea and owns the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province. NPL is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation, Zijin Mining, and the Papua Current Guinea Government, combining global mining expertise with a shared commitment to responsible resource development and long-term value creation for Papua New Guinea.

The Porgera Gold Mine will employ nearly 3,000 Papua New Guineans at full production and, over its 30-year operating history, has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea's total annual exports, making it one of the country's most significant economic assets.
About the role n
We are currently seeking an experienced
Jumbo Operator
to join our Underground Mining team. Reporting to the Underground Supervisor your responsibilities will include:

Drilling and bolting of incline, decline, primarily face drilling
n
Ground support, consisting of bolt and mesh
n
Identify and remedy misfires
n
Conduct prestart checks of equipment and drill site
n
Monitor and operate the drill rig control panel
n
Read and follow worksheets and drill patterns
n
Ensure that work is carried out through adherence to specifications, schedules, and standards
n
Mentoring of our highly capable national workforce
n
About you n
n




Minimum 5 years' experience operating Underground Jumbos (preferably Sandvik D422i series)
n
Competence in the safe and efficient operation of the Jumbo drill and installation of ground support
n
Hold relevant RPL and VOC's
n
Capable of meeting productivity standards (metres advanced)
n
Familiar with hard rock mining techniques with the ability to read ground conditions and drill designs
n
Possess a positive attitude to Safety and the care of the equipment
n
