Johnston Plant & Heavy Vehicle Repairs – Newcastle, NSW

We’re looking for an experienced Plant Mechanic / Auto Electrician to join our growing team.

We work on a wide range of heavy vehicles, plant, machinery and equipment , with workshop and field-service work available.

The Role
Diagnose, repair and maintain plant, heavy vehicles and machinery
Electrical diagnostics and fault finding
Repairs to 12V/24V electrical systems
Hydraulic and mechanical fault finding
Preventative maintenance and servicing
Field breakdowns and mobile repairs
Installation and repair of electrical accessories and equipment
Working across a variety of makes and models

What we’re looking for
Trade qualification as a Plant Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic or Auto Electrician
Robust mechanical and/or electrical diagnostic skills
Experience working on heavy equipment and machinery




Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good problem-solving skills
HR licence and/or auto electrical experience highly regarded
