About the Role:
n We are seeking an experienced Senior Calibration Engineer to support the calibration, optimisation and validation of advanced engine platforms.
n You will work across engine development and testing programs, combining hands-on testing, data analysis, combustion analysis and ECU calibration to optimise engine performance across a range of operating conditions.
n Working closely with Controls, Mechanical and Test Engineers, you will also contribute to calibration methodologies, technical reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Coordinate and undertake engine calibration and testing activities across development programs.
n
Conduct combustion analysis using high-speed data acquisition systems and engine dynamometer testing.
n
Optimise engine performance, drivability, starting and transient response across a range of operating conditions.
n
Support ECU software, diagnostics and engine control system development in collaboration with Controls Engineers.
n
Analyse engine, test cell and flight-log data to identify calibration improvements and performance enhancements.
n
Manage calibration datasets, technical documentation and change control activities.
n
Support project delivery,



technical reviews and customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
n
Develop and improve calibration processes, methodologies and testing procedures.
n
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement across engine calibration and testing activities.
n

Qualifications:
n
n
n
Proven experience in engine calibration, combustion development or powertrain optimisation.
n
Strong knowledge of ECU calibration strategies, engine controls and combustion systems.
n
Experience with calibration tools such as INCA, CANape, ATI Vision or similar.
n
Hands-on experience with engine dynamometer testing and performance analysis.
n
Solid data analysis and problem-solving capability.
n
Experience developing calibration processes, methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
Ability to mentor and support junior engineers and technical team members.
n
Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
n
Background in automotive, motorsport, aerospace, marine or off-highway engine development will be highly regarded.
n
Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Python or similar engineering tools is advantageous.
