Accountant | Public Practice | Canberra

Our client, a well-established public practice accounting firm based in Canberra, is seeking an experienced
Accountant
to join their collaborative and client-focused team.

Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Review individual, company, trust, and partnership tax returns, including complex Capital Gains Tax (CGT) matters.
n
Review financial statements, working papers, and compliance engagements to ensure accuracy and quality.
n
Manage workflow allocation and compliance deadlines across the team
n
Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional and timely service delivery.
n




Review SMSF tax returns and financial statements (highly regarded but not essential).
n
Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes, and operational efficiencies.
n
Collaborate with team members while independently managing complex accounting matters.
n
Ensure compliance with Australian taxation legislation and accounting standards.
n
n
Key Requirements:
n
n
CA or CPA qualified.
n
Minimum 5 years' experience in a public practice environment.
n
Strong experience reviewing tax returns and financial statements across various entity types.
n
Sound knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements.
n
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisational skills.
n
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software platforms.
n
Strong commitment to client service excellence and continuous improvement.
n
