The Role




Tom Price SHS is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Performing Arts teacher to join our team. Whether your expertise lies in Drama, Dance, Music, or a combination of these areas, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a school where the arts are valued, celebrated and actively supported.
This is more than a teaching position. It is an opportunity to nurture student talent, build a vibrant performing arts culture and create authentic pathways for students to develop their creativity, confidence and performance skills.
Deliver engaging Drama, Dance and/or Music programmes for students in Years 7-12.
Create a safe, inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
Lead performances, productions, showcases and extra-curricular opportunities.
Build meaningful partnerships with families and the wider community.
Contribute fresh ideas that continue to strengthen Performing Arts at Tom Price SHS.

You will work in a well-resourced and growing Performing Arts environment, including a dedicated black box theatre with professional lighting infrastructure and ongoing investment in contemporary sound and staging equipment.
The school also features a dedicated music studio equipped with guitars, bass guitars, drum kits, keyboards and contemporary music resources. Its intimate design makes it an ideal space for small ensembles, bands, instrumental instruction and performance coaching.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.
