Our client is a highly regarded ASX-listed financial services organisation with a strong presence in the Australian market and an established, growing Finance function.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Control team. This is a broad role offering exposure across financial accounting, statutory reporting, regulatory requirements and financial control within a sophisticated and fast-paced environment.
n
The role would suit an ambitious accountant looking to build their career within financial services, with excellent opportunities to develop technically and gain exposure to senior stakeholders.
The Role n
Reporting to a senior member of the Financial Control team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across the business.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n

Managing month-end accounting and reporting processes
n
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
n
Supporting statutory financial statement preparation
n
Assisting with regulatory and prudential reporting
n
Supporting tax and statutory lodgements
n
Managing and coordinating external audit requirements
n
Investigating variances and providing financial analysis
n




Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies
n
Supporting the implementation of accounting and regulatory changes
n
Contributing to finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
n
Working closely with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business
n
About You n
We are looking for a technically strong accountant who is keen to continue developing within a high-performing financial services setting.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
n
CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying towards qualification
n
3/5+ years' experience across accounting and financial reporting
n
Strong month-end and reconciliation experience
n
Sound technical accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting standards
n
Exposure to statutory, regulatory or external reporting
n
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
A proactive and collaborative approach
n
n
Financial services experience will be highly regarded. Big 4 or mid-tier audit experience, particularly within financial services, would also be highly relevant.
