Responsibilities
Lead architecture selection, design, and implementation of guidance, navigation, and control subsystems and control schemes for autonomous robotic platforms.
Integrate technologies from third-party vendors, research and development partners, and internal product teams.
Develop real-time embedded software and contribute to other embedded subsystems.
Create software- and hardware-in-the-loop testing and simulation fixtures.
Develop modeling and simulation capabilities, capture test data, and validate updated models.
Analyze control-system, subsystem, and instrumentation data to verify vehicle performance and evaluate GNC algorithms and controllers.
Perform root cause analyses for vehicle anomalies and incidents related to GNC responsibilities.
Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor software and hardware engineers.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.




At least 6 years of experience developing high-assurance, safety-critical GNC software, including cascading controls, adaptive controls, and transfer functions.
Systems programming skills in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization.
Extensive experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
Preferred experience includes C or C++, communications buses and protocols, troubleshooting remotely deployed software, electrical and mechanical systems, DO-178 or similar certifications, PX4, ArduPilot, ROS, and RTOS.
