CNC Machinist
to join our innovative engineering and manufacturing team in Bibra Lake, Western Australia.

As a full time CNC machinist, your daily duties include: n
n
Set up, program and operate CNC machines including lathes and milling machines
n
Experience with modern CNC controls, preferably Okuma
n
Experience with CAD/CAM systems such as SolidCAM, including toolpath programming and machining strategy development
n
Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
n
Select the right tooling/insert and jigs for the required application
n
Manufacture precision components to high tolerances
n
Perform quality inspections using measuring instruments
n
Select correct feeds and speeds.
n




Work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel and exotic alloys
n
Assist with continuous improvement of machining processes
n
Maintain safe work practices and equipment maintenance
n
Mentor apprentices and junior machinists and support skills development within the workshop
n
Contribute to efficient workshop organisation and job planning
n
Skills and Experience n
n
AQF Certificate Ill in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, or equivalent or relevant experience
n
At least five years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
n
Experience in using CAD and CNC programming is highly advantage
n
Previous experience with 5-axis CNC Milling an advantage
n
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
n
Experience with precision machining and measuring instruments
n
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
