Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Kirwan is more than just a childcare centre, it's a place where bonds are formed, little hearts are nurtured, and dreams take root! We are seeking a fully qualified and highly skilled Cook/Chef to join our brand-new service as its very first kitchen lead!
Help us set the standard from day one in our state of the art facility. This is a Permanent Part time position to Monday - Friday, no weekend or late shifts!

About your new role
/n
You will be setting up our brand-new kitchen operations and establishing high standards from day one.
/n
You will be preparing, cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods on time that are suitable for children aged 4 months to 6 years for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, including the preparation of purees and special dietary meals.
/n
You will engage in menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines, including catering for children with allergy, intolerance and religious requirements.
/n
You will work in line with budgets and local suppliers.
/n
You will maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements.
/n
About you
/n
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery preferred but not essential.
/n
Current food handling certificate or willingness to obtain.
/n
Current WWCC, approved first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma qualifications.
/n
Experience with menu planning and nutrition.
/n
Previous experience running a kitchen, cooking in childcare or similar catering workplace.
/n
You will be a reliable, positive and a well organised person.
/n
You will have excellent time management skills and be confident in managing a kitchen.
/n
You will provide a barista service to families (on the job training will be provided if necessary).
/n
