The Account Executive (Commercial) is responsible for managing and closing mid-market
n
commercial sales opportunities within the Commercial Sales team. This role works independently on a portfolio of qualified leads, engaging multiple stakeholders, delivering value-driven solutions, and driving revenue growth. The AE partners closely with BDRs and Sales Managers to maximise pipeline conversion and achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Manage a portfolio of qualified commercial opportunities, progressing deals from discovery to close.
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers across target accounts.
n
Conduct compelling product demonstrations, presentations, and proposals tailored to customer needs.
n
Negotiate commercial terms, close deals, and meet or exceed revenue targets.
n
Collaborate with BDRs, Sales Managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deal progression.
n
Maintain accurate opportunity and account information in Salesforce, including pipeline updates and forecasting.
n
Identify upsell or expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
n
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy and outreach.
n
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Requirements n
n
1–2 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in SaaS or technology sales.
n
Demonstrated experience managing deals from qualification to close, including discovery, presentations, negotiation, and contract execution.
n
Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM platforms; familiarity with sales engagement tools (e.g., SalesLoft, Outreach, HubSpot) is a plus.
n
Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
n
Ability to analyse customer needs, identify solutions, and articulate value propositions effectively.
n
Customer-focused, able to build credibility with multiple stakeholders.
n
Self-motivated, coachable, resilient, and able to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
n
Excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail; able to manage multiple deals simultaneously.
n
Highly desirable attributes n
n
Experience selling into commercial or mid-market B2B SaaS accounts with multi-stakeholder decision-making.
n
Comfort with account-based selling and structured pipeline management.
n
Confident engaging with manager-level and senior stakeholders, handling objections related to budget, timing, or priorities.
n
Ability to craft personalised, value-driven communications and proposals.
n
Data-driven mindset with experience tracking pipeline metrics, forecasting, and reporting.
n
Motivated to progress toward a Senior Account Executive or strategic sales role.
n
Familiarity with sales enablement tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Apollo, or similar.
n
