UX/UI Designers – Multiple Roles at APS6 and EL1 Levels n
We are seeking experienced UX/UI Designers for multiple opportunities at APS6 and EL1 equivalent levels, supporting the design and delivery of accessible, user-centred digital products and services within a complex Federal Government environment.

These roles will work across the end-to-end design lifecycle, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to understand user needs, solve complex experience challenges and translate insights into practical, accessible and evidence-based design solutions.

12 month initial contracts plus 12 month extension, rates fully negotiable
n
Richmond or Geelong location, hybrid 3 days in office
n
Federal Government roles – Australian citizenship is mandatory
n
Key responsibilities n
n
Lead and contribute to UX/UI activities across discovery, design, prototyping, validation and implementation
n
Apply human-centred design approaches to understand user needs and deliver accessible, effective digital experiences
n
Translate user insights and business requirements into conceptual and implementation-ready designs, interaction specifications and supporting artefacts
n
Facilitate workshops, design activities, stakeholder engagement and collaborative problem-solving sessions
n
Work closely with product, business, technical and delivery teams to balance user, business and technical requirements
n
Contribute to the evolution and adoption of design systems, reusable patterns, standards and design assets
n
Provide specialist advice across UX, UI,



accessibility and human-centred design
n
Support knowledge sharing, mentoring and the ongoing uplift of UX/UI design capability
n
About you n
To succeed in these roles you will need:
n
n
Robust experience delivering UX/UI design across complex digital products and services
n
Hands-on experience across human-centred design, user research, interaction and interface design, prototyping, testing and validation
n
Demonstrated ability to translate user needs and research insights into practical, accessible and evidence-based design solutions
n
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills
n
Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams including product managers, business analysts, developers and researchers
n
Experience with contemporary UX/UI and prototyping tools such as Figma, FigJam, Miro or similar
n
Strong knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design principles
n
Experience with design systems, component libraries, reusable design patterns or design governance will be highly regarded
n
Government, public sector or other highly regulated environment experience will also be highly regarded
n
For the
EL1-level opportunities
, we are particularly interested in senior designers with demonstrated experience leading complex design initiatives, influencing senior stakeholders, providing authoritative UX/UI advice and mentoring or coaching other designers
n
