Senior Substation Engineer | Renewables & BESS Projects | 6-Month Contract /n

Embedded Expertise is seeking an experienced Senior Substation Engineer to support the delivery of major renewable energy and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

/n

This contract opportunity will see you contributing to the design and delivery of large-scale renewable energy, BESS and HV substation projects, providing technical expertise across engineering design, studies, verification and project delivery.

About the Role /n

Working within a high-performing engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering substation and renewable energy infrastructure projects from concept design through to construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities /n

/n
Lead engineering activities across HV substation, BESS and renewable energy projects

/n
Develop and review primary electrical designs and engineering studies

/n
Prepare and review substation layouts, earthing, cabling and associated infrastructure designs

/n
Undertake engineering studies including earthing, lightning protection, cable sizing and insulation coordination

/n
Support HV equipment specification, procurement and technical evaluations

/n
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams





/n
Review engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project and industry standards

/n
Support construction and commissioning through technical advice and issue resolution

/n

About You /n

You are an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in HV substation, renewable energy and BESS projects.

Key Requirements /n

/n
Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering

/n
Chartered Engineer status, or eligibility to obtain

/n
8+ years' experience in HV substation or primary systems engineering

/n
Experience delivering renewable energy and/or BESS projects

/n
Solid knowledge of primary plant design, earthing systems and HV infrastructure

/n
Experience undertaking and reviewing engineering studies and calculations

/n
Robust communication and stakeholder engagement skills

/n
