Senior Network Specialist
to join a high-profile Federal Government environment in Canberra.

This is a hands-on senior technical role supporting and maintaining a complex, secure, multi-vendor network environment. The successful candidate will bring strong
Cisco enterprise networking expertise
, complemented by experience across technologies such as
HPE,
Fortinet/FortiGate,
Palo Alto and Peplink
.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across
Cisco, HPE, FortiGate, Palo Alto and Peplink
environments.
n
Administer and troubleshoot complex
LAN, MAN and WAN
environments.
n
Support Cisco technologies including
BGP, MPLS, IPsec, QoS and enterprise routing and switching
.
n
Manage and support
network security technologies and services
.
n
Support virtualised networking environments.
n
Manage carrier circuits and troubleshoot physical connectivity issues.
n
Implement and administer network management and monitoring solutions including
SNMP, Syslog, TACACS and NTP
.
n
Use automation tools to support the management of network and server infrastructure.
n
Work with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical network capabilities.
n




Support secure network environments aligned with the
Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)
.
n
n
About You
n
You will be a senior, hands-on network professional with robust experience operating complex enterprise networks.
n
Ideally, you will bring:
n
n
Strong
Cisco networking
experience across enterprise WAN and LAN environments.
n
Hands-on experience with
BGP, MPLS, IPsec and QoS
.
n
Experience working within
multi-vendor network environments
, including HPE, Cisco, Fortinet/FortiGate and/or Palo Alto.
n
Experience administering secure networks compliant with the
Australian Government ISM
.
n
Strong network monitoring and management experience across technologies such as
SNMP, Syslog, TACACS, NTP and DCIM
.
n
Experience using
automation tools
for network or infrastructure management.
n
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
n
Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
n
n
Highly regarded experience includes:
n
n
Palo Alto Networks NGFW
, including Panorama, GlobalProtect, User-ID, App-ID and Content-ID.
n
Linux server administration, including
DNS, proxies, web servers, host-based firewalls and security tooling
.
n
Previous experience within complex Australian Government ICT environments.
n
