Language Models play a vital role in promoting first-language development in Auslan, supporting communication access,



and strengthening students' connection to Deaf culture and identity.
About the Role
n
n
As a Teacher Aide - Language Model (Auslan), you will:
n
n
Provide fluent, natural Auslan language modelling for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
n
Support students' expressive and receptive language development
n
Promote Deaf culture, identity and culturally safe learning environments
n
Work collaboratively with teachers, educational interpreters and specialist staff
n
Contribute to inclusive classroom practices and communication access
n
n
Appointments may be Permanent or Temporary, Full time or Part-time, depending on school need and available vacancies.
n

Understand that appointment will occur only when a suitable vacancy becomes available

The recruitment panel will convene monthly to review applications and assess suitability for inclusion in the pool.
