Job Purpose n
We are seeking an
experienced Social Worker
to join a Children's Services team delivering
Early Help / Family Help support
to children, young people and their families.
n
The successful candidate will contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, working directly with families to assess needs, manage risk and support positive, sustainable outcomes.
n
This is a
community-based role
, involving work across the local area, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
Key Responsibilities n
n
n
Manage a varied and complex caseload appropriate to experience, with appropriate supervision and support.
n
n
Undertake high-quality
assessments, care planning and reviews
, ensuring practice is evidence-based and child-focused.
n
n
Identify, assess and manage
risk and need
, ensuring the safety and welfare of children and young people remains central to all practice.
n
n
Undertake direct work with children, young people and families to reduce risk, build resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
n
n
Provide qualified and registered social work in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, local policies and procedures.
n
n
Prepare high-quality
reports, statements and representations
,



including information required for Court proceedings where appropriate.
n
n
Attend and contribute to
multi-agency meetings, professional forums and safeguarding meetings
, chairing meetings where required.
n
n
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Children's Services, education, health, early help and other partner agencies.
n
n
Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case recordings in line with statutory and service requirements.
n
n
Promote strengths-based, family-focused practice that supports families to make positive and sustainable changes.
n
n
Ensure all work is undertaken professionally and in accordance with the standards expected of a qualified and registered Social Worker.
n
Essential Requirements n
n
n
Social Work qualification and current professional registration.
n
n
Previous experience working within
Children's Services
.
n
n
Strong experience in
Early Help / Family Help or family support services
.
n
n
Experience managing a caseload and completing assessments, plans and reviews.
n
n
Ability to assess and manage risk and safeguarding concerns.
n
n
Experience of working with children, young people and families in a community setting.
n
n
Strong multi-agency working and communication skills.
n
n
Valuable understanding of relevant children's social care legislation and statutory guidance.
n
n
Excellent written and recording skills.
n
n
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential.
n
