The Village Corner Patisserie & Acai – Queenscliff VIC
The Village Corner Patisserie & Acai is seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our agile kitchen team on a casual basis. Based in Queenscliff VIC ****, this role offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant hospitality environment where culinary creativity meets quality food preparation. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of food preparation, presentation and customer satisfaction. This casual position provides flexibility whilst allowing you to contribute meaningfully to our team's success and our customers' dining experiences.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency across all meals served
Managing food preparation stations, maintaining organisation and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
Plating and presenting dishes to meet the high visual and taste standards expected by our customers
Following food safety and hygiene protocols rigorously to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Working collaboratively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth operations and timely service
Assisting with inventory management and stock rotation, reporting on supplies as needed
Contributing creative ideas for menu development and seasonal specials
Operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining it in good working order
What we're looking for
Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a café, patisserie or casual dining setting
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and kitchen operations
Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and allergen management




Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously during service
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
Physical stamina and the ability to work on your feet for extended periods
Flexibility and adaptability to casual work patterns and scheduling requirements
Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
A relevant hospitality or culinary qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with substantial relevant experience
