Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Layout Artist to join our team for an immediate start in either our Adelaide or Brisbane studios.
n
Due to the immediate start date of this position and the short-term nature of the role, only applicants who are currently within Australia will be considered.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Create and deliver layouts, including but not limited to camera rigs, camera tracks, matchmoves and basic scene composites that meet the creative briefs for your team.
n
Set up, maintain, dress and deliver complex sets and environments.
n
Design shots and sequences based on previsualisation, storyboards or verbal briefs.
n
Create layouts and camera solutions for mono and stereo live action plates that integrate efficiently into the layout and tracking pipeline.
n
Diagnose and resolve your own technical roadblocks that hinder layouts, camera solutions and renders.
n




Collaborate with senior artists to ensure the creative and technical goals of projects are met.
n
Ensure shot layout, orientation and continuity line up with scene requirements.
n
Qualifications n
n
Excellent knowledge of Maya and Nuke.
n
Understanding of acquisition data technology such as Lidar and Photoscan.
n
Working knowledge of industry standard camera tracking applications such as 3D-Equalizer, Syntheyes and PFTrack.
n
Understanding of lens calibration, camera orientation and projection, focal length and distortion.
n
Real world understanding of proportion, depth, scale and physical space.
n
Working understanding of techniques and technologies relating to modelling, rigging and compositing.
n
Working knowledge of the VFX pipeline and entire post-production process, including interdepartmental dependencies and hand over processes.
