Assistant Accountant
to join its Corporate Finance team.

The Position
Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager, the
Assistant Accountant
will support the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end processes.
This position is suited to someone who enjoys working in a structured finance environment, is highly organised and can manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
You will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting functions while supporting the wider finance team across reporting, compliance and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with month-end reporting, journals and reconciliations
Support the preparation of management reports and financial analysis
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
Assist with Fixed Asset Register maintenance and depreciation processing
Support BAS, GST and PAYG preparation activities
Investigate account variances and assist in resolving discrepancies
Assist with external audit and year-end reporting requirements




Support financial process improvements and reporting enhancements
Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial data
Provide general accounting support to the wider finance team
About You
This role will suit an accounting professional who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy and can perform effectively within tight reporting deadlines.
You will be proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable managing a high volume of manual processes while maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
Skills & Experience
Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
CPA/CA studies commenced or intention to commence highly regarded
Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
Strong Excel skills, including reconciliations and financial analysis
Good understanding of accounting principles and balance sheet concepts
Ability to meet tight month-end deadlines and work under pressure
Comfortable working with manual processes and large data sets
Robust attention to detail and analytical capability
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Industry experience within transport, logistics, waste management or related sectors will be highly regarded.
