We're looking for a hands-on Store Manager to become the face of Terroir Port Macquarie.
n
You might already manage a wine or liquor store, or you could be an experienced sommelier, cellar-door professional, hospitality manager or assistant manager ready to take the next step.
n
This is very much a
working manager role
. You'll spend your time on the shop floor talking with customers, sharing your knowledge, recommending products and running the day-to-day store. As the business grows, you'll also have the opportunity to build and develop the team around you.

What you'll be doing n

Build genuine relationships with customers and become a trusted local source for great wine, spirits and food
n
n




Share your product knowledge in a way that is engaging, approachable and never intimidating
n
n
Help customers discover new wines, producers, regions and products
n
n
Drive sales and identify opportunities to grow the store and its customer base
n
n
Host tastings, activations and customer events
n
n
Build relationships with suppliers, winemakers, producers and the local community
n
n
Manage stock, ordering, inventory, merchandising and store presentation
n
n
Understand sales, margins, stock performance and labour and use these to make valuable commercial decisions
n
n
Work independently and take genuine ownership of the day-to-day store
n
n
Build, train and develop your team as the business grows
n
About you n
First and foremost,
you genuinely love wine, food and great products — and you enjoy sharing that passion with other people.
n
You don't need to know everything. Curiosity and the desire to keep learning are part of what we're looking for.
n
Ideally, you'll:
n
n
n
Have strong wine and spirits knowledge gained through retail, hospitality, cellar door, distribution or formal wine education
n
n
Love talking with customers and making thoughtful recommendations
n
n
Be able to make wine approachable, whether someone is discovering their first great bottle or knows exactly what they're looking for
n
n
Be confident working independently and taking responsibility for the store
n
n
Have a commercial mindset and understand the importance of sales,



margin, stock and labour
n
n
Have high standards for presentation and customer experience
n
n
Enjoy being hands-on and working on the floor rather than managing from the sidelines
n
n
Want to help grow and shape a developing specialty retail business
n
n
Hold an RSA and meet the requirements of the relevant liquor licence
n
n
WSET qualifications or other wine education would be highly regarded, but
experience, knowledge and genuine passion matter just as much.
