Western Sydney Migrant Resource Centre (WSMRC) is a leading community organisation supporting newly arrived migrants, refugees, and culturally diverse communities across Western Sydney.

For over 40 years, WSMRC has worked alongside communities to strengthen settlement outcomes, build resilience, and create opportunities for social and economic participation. WSMRC provides a range of wrap-around programs supporting our core settlement services, including family and children services, older-persons support, disability and health support, youth activities, and a variety of other information-based advisory and community leadership programs.

THE OPPORTUNITY
n
We have an exciting opportunity for a
Head of Community Care and Youth Services
to join our
leadership team
. This role sits within our Community Care and Youth Services portfolio,



which brings together community-based programs supporting people and families across different stages of life, including
aged care, disability, health and youth services.
n
The purpose of this role is to provide
strategic leadership
across the portfolio, overseeing program delivery, financial performance, funding growth and team development, so that older people, young people and their families across Western Sydney can access high-quality, connected support. This role supports culturally and linguistically diverse older people, families and young people across Liverpool, Macarthur and Western Sydney.
n
This is a pivotal time to join WSMRC, with a strong focus on
securing new funding
opportunities, leading
tender and grant submissions
, and strengthening partnerships to expand our services in response to growing community need. You will have genuine autonomy to shape the
strategic direction
of a diverse and meaningful program portfolio, build strong relationships with government and community stakeholders, and
lead a team
committed to making a real difference in people's lives.
n
This position is classified as Social and Community Services Employee,
Level 6 or 7
under the SCHADS Award.
n
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
n
n
Provide strategic oversight of program delivery, ensuring services meet funding, contractual and legislative requirements
n
Lead, inspire, and develop program teams, including recruitment, coaching and performance management
n
Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, and lead the development of grant and tender submissions
n
Develop and manage program budgets, monitoring financial performance and reporting on variances
n
Build and maintain relationships with government, funders, and community organisations to strengthen partnerships and service delivery
n
Represent WSMRC at sector forums, working groups and community networks
n
Oversee accurate and timely reporting on program performance,



outcomes and compliance
n
Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and service delivery practices
n
Ensure coordination and referral pathways across community care, aged care, disability and youth services
n
Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace culture across the team
n
n
ABOUT YOU
n
You will bring
n
n
A relevant degree in social work, community services, social services, management or a related discipline
n
At least 5 years' experience in program management, including service delivery, reporting and financial management
n
Demonstrated
experience leading teams
, including coaching, performance management and building capability
n
Strong
financial management skills
, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
n
Demonstrated
experience in grant and funding development,
including preparing submissions and managing acquittals
n
Strong understanding of the government, non-government and philanthropic funding setting
n
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the organisation externally
n
A current or ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
n
n
It would be great if you also have
n
n
Demonstrated knowledge of CALD community services, particularly health, aged care, disability and youth service networks
n
Experience working across community development, program development and continuous improvement
n
Demonstrated strategic thinking and commercial acumen to identify opportunities for program growth and sustainability
n
Confidence using Microsoft 365 and Customer Relationship Management software
n
