Mechanical Services Engineer - Critical Power Cooling Systems n
Ampcontrol is looking for a Mechanical Services Engineer to play a key role in the design, integration, testing and commissioning of mechanical cooling systems supporting critical power infrastructure.
n
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of mechanical engineering and critical electrical infrastructure, developing cooling solutions that ensure UPS systems, batteries, switchboards, generator and other mission-critical equipment operate safely and reliably.

You'll work across projects from concept and detailed design through to commissioning and
handover,collaborating
with electrical engineers, project managers, OEMs, contractors and clients.

What You'll Do
n
n
Design and engineer HVAC, cooling and ventilation systems for UPS, battery rooms, switchrooms, generators, modular systems and data centres.
n
Complete cooling load calculations, equipment selection and mechanical layouts, considering capacity, redundancy and maintainability.
n
Integrate mechanical systems with electrical infrastructure and assess thermal performance and operating requirements.
n
Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, building codes and client specifications.
n
Develop and support FAT, SAT, Integrated Systems Testing and commissioning activities.
n
Troubleshoot and verify cooling performance, controls, airflow, temperature and system redundancy.
n
Work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, OEMs, contractors and clients throughout design, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Maintain engineering calculations, technical documentation and commissioning records.

About You
n
You'll be a Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical services, HVAC or critical infrastructure and a strong interest in complex engineering environments.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
A degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
n
Experience designing and/or commissioning cooling systems, ideally within data centres, critical power, telecommunications or other mission-critical environments.
n
A practical understanding of the interaction between mechanical and electrical systems.
n
Knowledge of UPS, battery, switchgear or other electrical infrastructure will be highly regarded.
n
An understanding of redundancy, resilience and reliability principles.
n
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
The ability to work collaboratively across mechanical, electrical and project disciplines.
n
A willingness to undertake site-based commissioning and project work.
n
