Reporting to the Infrastructure Supervisor, the core purpose of this vital role is to assist in the day-to-day requirements of a dewatering/pumping operations for Clermont Open Cut. You will be a key stakeholder in providing guidance, and support to site regarding dewatering/pump operations and compliance to the SHMS.
As a dewatering/pump operator at Clermont Open Cut your responsibilities include but are not limited to: n
n
Operate and maintain dewatering / pumping equipment and associated infrastructure
n
Monitor water levels, flows, and pump performance; respond to changing site conditions
n
Conduct routine inspections, basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance
n
Complete pre-starts, hazard identification, and required documentation
n
Work collaboratively within crews to support safe, continuous operations (particularly during wet season)
n
Install, relocate and remove poly pipelines and dewatering infrastructure
n
Install, service and maintain diesel pumping systems and associated equipment
n
Carry out pump inspections, fault finding, change-outs and breakdown maintenance
n
Poly welding and pipeline repairs
n
Inspect and maintain pipelines, valves and associated infrastructure, and complete repairs to minimise operational downtime
n
Assist with dogging, rigging and lifting activities where required
n
Operate vehicles and plant associated with dewatering activities




n
Work closely with the wider dewatering, maintenance and mining teams
n
Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards
n
You will possess the following skillset and attributes: n
n
Minimum 2 years' experience in large mining operation
n
Strong safety focus and ability to follow site procedures and permit systems
n
Ability to work in changing weather conditions
n
Current Australian Driver's Licence
n
Pump maintenance or mechanical experience
n
Strong commitment to site safety
n
Previous mine-site dewatering experience (highly regarded)
n
HR Driver's Licence (highly regarded)
n
Mechanical Fitter trade qualification (desirable)
n
Experience with diesel pumping systems (highly regarded)
n
Poly welding / butt welding qualifications or experience (desirable)
n
Dogging and/or Rigging ticket (desirable)
n
n
This role requires a safety conscious candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practice using a hands-on approach.
