About the role n
This is a full-time, on-site role for a
Telecommunications Technician with electrical experience
.
n
You will be responsible for installing, testing, commissioning and maintaining
telecommunications,
communications cabling and electrical infrastructure across a range of projects. The role includes rough-in and fit-off of communications and electrical systems, troubleshooting, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair of existing installations.
n
The successful candidate will be comfortable working across both
telecommunications and electrical scopes
and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Key responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): n
n
Install, terminate, label and test structured cabling, including Cat6/Cat6A and fibre optic
n
Install communications hardware including racks, patch panels, outlets and cable management systems
n
Undertake electrical installation and associated works in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements.
n
Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on telecommunications and electrical systems
n
Hold a current Electrical Contractor's Licence.
n
Complete rough-in and fit-off of telecommunications and electrical infrastructure
n
Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications
n
Perform fibre optic installation, termination,



testing and fault finding
n
Complete testing, certification and commissioning documentation
n
Ensure all works are completed safely, on time and to a high standard
n
Liaise professionally with clients, site supervisors and team members
n
Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a secure and organised condition
n
Work across commercial, government and rail-related projects as required
n
About you n
n
Proven experience as a
Telecommunications Technician, Data Cabler, Communications Technician, Electrician or similar role
n
Current NSW Electrical Licence – required
n
Open Cabling Registration (ACMA) with relevant endorsements – required
n
Strong telecommunications and structured cabling experience
n
Experience with fibre optic installation and testing – highly regarded
n
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
n
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
White Card – required
n
Current Driver's Licence – required
n
Security Licence – desirable
n
Rail industry experience – highly regarded
n
