In the position of Urology Senior House Officer, you will be expected to participate in the provision of high-level Urology clinical services within Ipswich Hospital and to ensure that safe, high quality, patient-centred care is provided to all within West Moreton Health. You will be supported and encouraged to expand your education and training in Urology and become an key member of the Urology Department.

In the position of Urology Senior House Officer, you will be expected to participate in the provision of high-level Urology clinical services within Ipswich Hospital and to ensure that protected, high quality, patient-centred care is provided to all within West Moreton Health. You will be supported and encouraged to expand your education and training in Urology and become an important member of the Urology Department. The Urology SHO will undertake 12-months within the Department of Urology.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:
n
Working under the supervision of the Urology Principal House Officers (PHOs), Registrars, and Consultants (collectively referred to as 'senior medical staff'), the Urology SHO will:
n
n
Participate in inpatient and outpatient provision of Urology services, including but not limited to day-to-day review of inpatients, outpatient clinics, assisting in operating
n
Arrange investigations, surgical and medical treatment and discharge as directed by the senior medical staff.
n
Review and assess undifferentiated patients presenting to the Urology Department,



as requested by senior medical staff.
n
Be encouraged to develop management plans and perform medical treatment and investigations in discussion with senior medical staff.
n

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

Demonstrated ability to provide high quality medical care to patients in the Urological environment, together with knowledge of current critical care treatments and protocols.
n
Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary health care team.
n
Demonstrated high level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
n
Demonstrated ability to engage in education and continued development in the field of Urology.
