We are seeking a
Canteen Assistant
to join the team at Wauchope Public School Canteen in Wauchope, NSW. This is a
casual position
that plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our school canteen.
Key responsibilities n
Operating canteen equipment safely and maintaining proper food handling practices at all times
n
Serving customers in a friendly, effective, and professional manner during service periods
n
Taking orders and processing payments
n
Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment, including washing dishes, utensils, and surfaces
n
Restocking ingredients, supplies, and serving materials as needed
n
Following all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage and temperature control
n
Daily, weekly and end term cleaning
What we're looking for n




Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with a current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one
n
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and parents
n
Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to consistent attendance
n
Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items
n
A friendly, patient, and service-oriented approach to customer
n
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team under supervision
n
Current working with children check
n
1 day per week approx 6 hours
