About the role n
As a key member of the compliance team, the Compliance Officer provides or supports the delivery of a variety of services to the Inverell Community, including but not limited to:
n
n
Assist administrative/ technical staff with field enquiries.
n
Rural Addressing post location and erection.
n
MGB deliveries and investigation regarding damage complaints.
n
Arrange minor building maintenance.
n
Companion animal complaints and impounding.
n
Assist in euthanasia and micro chipping of animals.
n
Nuisance complaint investigation (overgrown vegetation, barking dogs, pollution matters, etc).
n
Routine environmental monitoring of landfills and other waste facilities.
n
Participate in after hours Compliance call out roster.
n
Shopping trolley patrols and complaint investigation.
n
Successfully undertake required vocational training.
n
Littering patrols and investigations.
n
General assistance to the Biosecurity Officer including priority weeds inspection and control.
n
Assist Parks & Gardens Section and Civil Engineering Branch crews within skill range as required from time to time.
n
Car parking patrols and regulate compliance of street activities.
n
Development compliance monitoring and advice to Council's Development Services staff.
n
Other duties compatible with the employee's skills competence and training.
n

Remuneration shall range from $1,****** to $1,****** gross per week,



and an on-call allowance of up to $****** per week shall be payable when required to be on-call.

The following selection criteria shall be considered as part of your application:
n
n
NSW Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
n
NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
n
NSW Firearms Licence (Category A and Category B)
n
Demonstrated customer service experience.
n
Ability to operate computers and other office equipment.
n




Understanding of Work Health and Safety Regulations.
n
Willingness to undertake training as Council Ranger and Biosecurity functions.
n
Demonstrated ability to resolve matters where competing priorities or conflict exists.
n
SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card ('White Card').
n
Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services)
n
Certificate IV in Animal Control & Regulation
n
Certificate IV in Local Government Investigation
n
Understanding of chemical application procedures relating to pesticides and herbicides.
n
Demonstrated ability to handle companion animals with confidence.
n
SEINS Parking Certificate.
n
Accreditation for microchipping companion animals.
n
Completion of any training in relation to environmental compliance and management functions.
n
n
Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award ****. The classification for the position is Operational Band 1, Level 3, Grade 4. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,****** to $1,****** gross per week, and an on-call allowance of up to $****** per week shall be payable when required to be on-call.
