We are currently seeking an experienced
Casual Defects Estimator
to support our Fire Detection division. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, defect rectification, and quotation preparation, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment.

Previous Simpro experience is essential.
About the Role n
As a Defects Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing fire detection inspection and service reports, identifying rectification requirements, and preparing accurate quotations for clients. You will play a key role in helping our customers maintain compliant, reliable, and fully operational fire detection systems.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Review fire detection inspection and maintenance reports.
n
Assess defects and determine required rectification works.
n
Prepare accurate defect quotations using Simpro.
n
Liaise with service technicians to clarify defect findings and scope of works.
n
Source pricing for materials and subcontractors.
n
Manage quotation workflows and follow-up activities.
n
Ensure urgent and compliance-related defects are prioritised.
n
Maintain accurate customer and job records within Simpro.
n




Support service and operations teams as required.
n
Essential Requirements n
n
Demonstrated experience using
Simpro
for estimating and quotation management.
n
Experience within the fire protection, fire detection, electrical, or building services industry.
n
Robust understanding of fire alarm systems and defect rectification processes.
n
Ability to interpret technical service reports and identify required works.
n
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
n
Desirable Skills n
n
Knowledge of Australian Standards relating to fire detection systems.
n
Experience with commercial fire alarm systems and major fire detection brands.
n
Previous experience in a service coordination, estimating, or compliance-related role.
n
Understanding of fire maintenance contracts and service delivery.
n
