Main purpose of the role
We're looking for an experienced and hands‐on
Yard & Production Team Leader
to lead our Vehicle Appraisals, Production and Yard teams.
This is a busy, varied role where you'll be responsible for keeping daily operations running smoothly, ensuring vehicles move efficiently through the site and that high‐quality digital vehicle imagery is produced on time.
You'll work closely with the Duty Manager, leading your team to deliver against
quality, productivity, cost and service targets
, while maintaining high standards across the site.
This is a hands‐on operational role involving both indoor and outdoor work.
A significant part of the role takes place in the yard, so you'll need to be comfortable working outside
throughout the year and in varying weather conditions

What You'll Be Doing
Leading the Team
Lead, motivate and support Production and Yard colleagues across a busy operational site
Manage day‐to‐day performance, attendance, training and development




Plan staffing levels to ensure the operation is appropriately resourced
Set explicit priorities and communicate daily targets and expectations
Coach your team to improve performance and maintain high standards
Managing Operations
Oversee the timely production of high‐quality digital vehicle assets
Coordinate daily yard activity, ensuring vehicles are parked, stored and moved safely and efficiently
Make sure vehicles are prepared for sale within agreed timescales, including barcoding, key control and valet arrangements
Monitor performance against productivity, quality, speed and cost targets
Ensure all activity follows BCA Standard Operating Procedures
Work closely with internal teams and on‐site partners, including RAC, SMART repair and vehicle enhancement teams
Identify performance trends and opportunities to improve efficiency
Handle operational or customer issues professionally, escalating where appropriate
Support practical yard activities when required, including securing valuable items and jump‐starting vehicles, with training provided
What We're Looking For
You'll be a confident people leader who enjoys working in a
fast‐paced, target‐driven operational environment

You'll also have:
Previous experience as a
Team Leader, Supervisor or Line Manager
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
The ability to motivate and develop a team to achieve results
Confidence delegating tasks and managing competing priorities




Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
An interest in, or passion for, the motor industry
Confidence driving both manual and automatic vehicles
A
full UK driving licence
