Position Summary n
The
Public Area Attendant
is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene and presentation of all public areas, guest-accessible facilities and back-of-house areas within the hotel. This role ensures that public spaces are consistently maintained to a high standard throughout the shift, contributing to a positive guest experience and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Clean and maintain public areas including lobbies, lifts, corridors, entrances, stairwells, guest restrooms, restaurants, meeting spaces and other guest-accessible facilities.
n
Maintain cleanliness of back-of-house corridors, service areas, staff facilities and operational areas as assigned.
n
Vacuum carpets, mop floors, wipe surfaces and polish fixtures to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards.
n
Clean glass doors, mirrors, windows and other high-touch surfaces.




n
Maintain assigned areas throughout the shift to ensure cleanliness, hygiene and immediate response to spills or guest traffic.
n
Empty rubbish bins, replace liners and ensure waste is disposed of appropriately.
n
Replenish public restroom supplies including toilet paper, soap and paper towels.
n
Assist with periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as carpet spot cleaning, high-dusting
n
Skills and Experience n
n
Hotel Background:
Previous housekeeping experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment is highly regarded; experience in cleaning guest rooms and public areas preferred.
n
Communication Skills:
Clear and professional communication with supervisors and team members; polite, friendly and respectful when interacting with guests.
n
Attention to Detail:
Strong eye for detail to ensure rooms meet high cleanliness and presentation standards at all times.
n
Physical Capability:
Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, pushing trolleys and standing for extended periods.
n
Team-Oriented:
Reliable and dependable team player who works efficiently in a fast-paced environment and supports overall housekeeping operations.
n
