Collar Care is currently seeking an experienced
Maintenance Officer
to join a well-established aged care organisation in the ACT.
n
This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the delivery of
reactive and preventative maintenance
, ensuring buildings, property and equipment are maintained to a high standard and that a safe environment is provided for residents, staff and visitors.

About the Role n
You will be responsible for:
n
n
Completing preventative and reactive maintenance
n
Undertaking general handyman and building maintenance
n
Maintaining property, buildings and equipment
n
Responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner
n
Coordinating and overseeing contractors when required
n
Identifying and escalating maintenance risks
n
Supporting compliance with relevant standards and WHS requirements
n
Maintaining accurate records relating to maintenance, consumables and expenses
n
Working collaboratively with staff, contractors,



residents and families
n
Responding to emergency maintenance requirements when required
n
n
The role is focused on maintaining a
safe, functional and high-quality living environment for residents, staff and visitors
.
About You n
To be successful, you will have:
n
n
3-5 years' experience
in general handyman or building maintenance
n
Building trade qualifications or equivalent advanced maintenance knowledge and skills
n
Knowledge of building codes, standards and general maintenance practices
n
Understanding of WHS requirements
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills
n
The ability to work professionally with residents, families, staff and contractors
n
A genuine understanding and sensitivity towards working within a residential aged care setting
n
n
Aged care, retirement living or health experience is desirable.
