One Touch Painting & Decorating Pty Ltd is a reputable residential painting services company located in Lara.
n
They now seek an experienced Painting Trades Worker to join their team to service Lara, VIC and surrounding suburbs.
The Role n
This is a full time salary with an annual salary set between $*****, depending on experience plus superannuation.
Responsibilities n
n
Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel and other finishes to surfaces using spray guns, brushes or rollers.
n
Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces such as bare wood or metal for finish coats.
n
Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements and/or work orders.
n
Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
n
Fill cracks, holes and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other fillers using caulking guns or putty knives.
n
Mix and match colours of paint, stain or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colours and consistencies.
n
Clean surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper.
n
Polish final coats to specified finishes.
n
Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors or homeowners in order to determine work requirements.
n
Spray or brush hot plastics or pitch onto surfaces.
n
Use special finishing techniques such as sponging, ragging, layering or faux finishing.
n




Waterproof buildings using water proofers and caulking.
n
Maintain correct record and general recordkeeping.
n
Clean up the job site after work and return equipment and tools.
n
Maintain a clean work environment.
n
Put up scaffolding or setting up ladders to perform tasks above ground level
n
Wash surfaces prior to painting with mildew remover, using brush
n
Apply wallpaper fabrics
n
Estimating costs involved and negotiating prices
n
Requirements n
n
Relevant experience and skillset to perform aforementioned duties
n
At least 1 year experience in commercial and residential painting role in the painting industry in a skilled and commercial setting
n
At least 1 year experience in high-performance and protective coatings
n
At least 1 year experience in a wide range of painting techniques, including faux finishes, marbling, graining, and fresco
n
At least 1 year experience in chemical stripping, abrasive blasting, and power washing techniques for surface preparation
n
At least 1 year experience using specialized materials such as waterproofing membranes, epoxy floor systems
n
Good understanding of colour theory and various finish types
n
Physical dexterity to climb ladders, carry heavy equipment and to stand for long periods of time
n
Additional tickets, EWP and relevant licenses will be looked upon favourably
n
