This is a temporary full time position commencing in Term 4, from 6 October until 11 December ****, unless otherwise determined.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Established in ****, Mount Morgan State High School has a long history and strong connection to the local community. Located in the historic mining town of Mount Morgan, around 40 km south-west of Rockhampton, the school provides education for students in Years 7-12.

Your opportunity:

As Head of Department - Junior Secondary, you will lead the Junior Secondary phase and work with teachers to strengthen teaching and learning and support positive outcomes for students.

You will:

Lead teaching and learning across Junior Years.
n
Support teachers to implement effective, explicit teaching practices.
n
Strengthen student engagement, achievement and wellbeing.
n
Work collaboratively with staff, students, families and the wider community.
n
Contribute to the school's academic, vocational and future pathways.
n
