Job Description
Reporting to the Track & Facilities Manager, this role will help lead a small team that ensures the racecourse, training facilities and surrounding grounds are maintained to the highest possible standard. This is a hands‐on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, leading a team and takes pride in maintaining first‐class sporting facilities.

Key responsibilities
n
Assisting with the preparation and presentation of safe, high‐quality racing and training surfaces
n
Providing day‐to‐day leadership and direction to the Track & Facilities team
n
Planning, coordinating and supervising daily maintenance activities
n
Administration and record keeping for maintenance and improvement programs
n
Assisting with irrigation, agronomic and general turf maintenance programs
n
Operating and maintaining a range of specialised turf equipment and machinery
n
Coordinating race day preparation and supporting racing operations
n
Maintaining high standards of workplace health and safety
n
Assisting with the ongoing improvement of the Club's grounds and facilities
n
About you
n
Experience supervising or leading a small team
n
Strong organisational and communication skills
n
The ability to plan, prioritise and work efficiently in a dynamic environment
n




A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
n
Pride in producing high‐quality work
n
A current Queensland Driver Licence
n
White Card
n
Experience with heavy machinery
n
A genuine interest in turf management and/or horse racing
