With continued expansion in Canberra - and with future succession planning in mind - we are seeking an experienced
Structural Manager
to lead our Canberra team.

people, clients, workflow, and delivery
across a busy residential portfolio. You will step into a position with real influence, ensuring the team operates smoothly, clients are supported, and residential projects move through the pipeline with clarity and consistency. As Residential Structural Manager, you will:

Lead and grow
the Canberra residential structural function

Own workflow

The Role
n
Integrating into the existing Residential and Commercial team you will lead the day-to-day operation and strategic direction of the Canberra residential structural team.
n
Your focus will span:
n
Leadership & Culture
n
n
n
Develop and mentor Engineers, Senior Engineers, and Graduates
n
n
Drive accountability, engagement, and high performance
n
n
Lead performance and remuneration reviews
n
n
Support recruitment and succession planning for long-term stability
n
n
Technical Oversight
n
n
n
Maintain oversight of residential structural projects (single dwellings, extensions, townhouses, small multi-res)
n
n
Ensure QA standards and technical excellence are upheld
n
n
Provide senior review and guidance on complex or high-risk residential work
n
n
Commercial & Operational Performance
n
n
n
Manage financial targets and team profitability
n
n
Forecast workload, resourcing, and staffing requirements
n
n
Contribute to fee proposals and commercial strategy
n
n
Report performance metrics to Directors
n
n
Client & Workflow Management
n
n
n
Maintain and strengthen key residential client relationships
n




n
Oversee workflow through the team to ensure timely delivery
n
n
Resolve client issues with clarity and confidence
n
n
Represent EDGE in residential industry forums and stakeholder meetings
n
n
You will remain technically credible - while leading strategically.
n
About You
n
You are a leader first, residential structural engineer always.
n
You bring:
n
n
n
Degree qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering
n
n
7+ years' experience
in residential structural consulting
n
n
Proven leadership as a Structural Manager, Team Lead, Senior Engineer, or similar
n
n
Demonstrated experience managing residential engineering teams
n
n
Strong knowledge of Australian residential building structures
n
n
Commercial awareness and financial acumen
n
n
Confident client-facing capability
n
n
Chartered (or near Chartered) status with Engineers Australia
n
n
Most importantly, you are motivated to build something enduring - not simply manage the status quo.
