OVERVIEW CEA CAPA is seeking a Student Support Coordinator to support American college and university students studying at the Sydney Centre in Australia.
Reporting to the Student Support Director, this role focuses on student welfare, events and activities, reception operations, housing, health and safety, and crisis response.
The position is highly student-facing and involves regular interaction with students, university partners, accommodation providers, staff, and external suppliers.
The coordinator plays an important role in creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive study abroad environment.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver student activities, cultural events, excursions, educational visits, and social programs
Assist with student arrivals, departures, orientation programs, and welcome events
Participate in evening and weekend activities to help students engage with Australian culture and the local community
Provide student support and advising to contribute to a positive study abroad experience
Support the Student Support Director in responding to student welfare concerns, disciplinary matters, and crisis situations
Conduct student welfare check-ins and maintain regular contact with students throughout their program
Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for students, visitors, and partners attending the Sydney Centre
Create program calendars, activity schedules, and detailed itineraries
Work collaboratively with Student Support, Academic, and Internship teams to support program delivery
Participate in the emergency phone rotation to provide emergency support to students when required
Requirements




Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Genuine passion for working with university students
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
Experience coordinating events, activities, or group programs
Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively under pressure
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented team environment
Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft Office and database systems
