The Teacher Registration directorate is comprised of three branches: Registration and Customer Services, Investigations and Compliance, and Policy and Quality Assurance.
The directorate is responsible for providing secretariat services to the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
The directorate supports the board's mission of serving the public interest by ensuring that teachers are registered, and teacher education programs are accredited in accordance with relevant legislation and in the best interests of children
The Role
The Team Leader Customer Service will provide expert advice on the teacher registration requirements and application process, ensuring that employees comply with relevant policies when performing duties and making decisions.
You will mentor, train and supervise the Customer Service team, ensuring compliance with policy and legislation.
This includes monitoring and managing staff leave entitlements to ensure accrued leave is cleared within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with relevant awards, agreements and Department policy
The successful applicant will act as the first point of operational escalation for all customer service issues and ensure critical, high-risk or business-impacting matters are escalated to the Senior Consultant Customer Service.
You will also provide advice to Departmental management on operating and improving business systems used to facilitate efficient and effective registration practice.
In this role, the Team Leader will assist in the resolution of complaints and complex enquiries by providing procedural and technical advice.
As well as managing staff performance in accordance with the Public Sector Performance Management Standards and Department policy.
